After many years teaching Trainee Professionals and supporting PGA members as a lecturer with The Professional Golfers' Association Philip now offers coaching and custom fitting for players at Drive In Golf and continues to support trainee professionals in developing the knowledge and skills to succeed both on and off the course.
Philip is actively involved in golf research and is committed to ensuring that his coaching, teaching and professional development work is informed by the latest evidence within golf science.
His research interests include golf coaching, ball flight, impact conditions, equipment and performance. In 2025, Philip co-authored research with Dr Jack Wells examining the effects of face tape and face tape residue on ball flight characteristics, published in the International Journal of Golf Science. The study explored the practical implications of using face tape within coaching and custom fitting environments and highlighted the importance of accurate, evidence-based data collection.
Alongside conducting and publishing research, Philip actively engages with current golf science literature, using emerging research to challenge established thinking and ensure that his coaching, education and CPD delivery remain contemporary, evidence-informed and relevant to PGA Professionals and golfers.
